- A unique appearance to suit your home/building
Product Specification
UPVC Fascia, barge boards and soffits are constructed using Summit PVC-UE profiles. Summit never needs painting, will not rot, flake, peel or crack and is resistant to pollution and moisture. It represents a long term practical solution to the increasing costs of maintenance combining the flexibility and aesthetic qualities of timber with the durability of PVC.
Summit Celluar PVC-UE is manufactured using the latest technology where the materials consist of a foamed core with a tough outer skin specially formulated to provide lightweight and robust profiles with unsurpassed maintenance-free properties.
Fascia, Soffit and Guttering Installation
Fascia boards and soffits are fixed in accordance with standardised practice. All boards are fixed using plastic-headed A4 stainless steel nails of an appropriate length and secured to rafter feet, noggins and gable ladders. Old fascias, bargeboards and soffits will be removed (unless capping work required), existing timber rafters and supports will be inspected and any rotten timber will be brought to your attention and replacement costs will be discussed, on approval the timber will be replaced with new treated softwood. Sarking (eaves) felt will be examined and if damaged brought to your attention for inspection and replacement options will be discussed. Eaves box ends are constructed and shaped to match the appropriate roof pitch.
Matching fascia/soffit joints and corner mouldings/trims are cut to suit. The mouldings/trims are fixed onto one plank end using solvent adhesive while the subsequent board is engaged in the cover by push fit, leaving a 5mm expansion gap between the boards. Bargeboards/gable ridge joints are made using an appropriate ridge joint with boards cut to the required angle. Internal corners are secured over fascia ends by using silicone adhesive.
Once the fascia board is installed, gutter brackets are fixed with stainless steel screws onto the fascia board. All down pipes are screw fixed to brickwork and joined to the appropriate soak aways or as per originally installed.
Cover Board Installation
Installation of cover Fascia/Soffit boards over the existing timber is only advised if the existing timber fascia/soffits are in good condition. The UPVC cover fascia boards are covered by the same guarantees but installation reduces the risk of additional tile repairs.
